The Caribbean is a tropical region that shares the same flora and fauna. It is famous for its friendly people, beautiful beaches, relaxing atmosphere, carnival, cricket, soccer, etc., and its many talented people. It is considered a melting pot of many cultures such as the Carib, Arawak, Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese, French, English, German, African, Chinese, and East Indian. Our region continues to grow today in many ways. Some of the predominant languages spoken are English, Spanish, French, Dutch, Chinese, Hindi and derivatives of these. The Caribbean is also famous for its delicious and very varied cuisine as well. There are many melodious musical styles such as Reggae, Calypso, Soca, Parang, and Chutney to name a few. Pan (steel-drum) is also a musical instrument developed in this region.
